Highmark Issues Draft SRS Policy for Comment

HIGHMARK MEDICARE SERVICES TO HOLD OPEN PUBLIC

MEETING AND OPENS COMMENT PERIOD ON DRAFT SRS POLICY
May 20, 2011 – The CyberKnife Coalition is pleased to announce that
Highmark Medicare Services, the Medicare contractor for Delaware,
Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the District of Columbia, and parts
of Virginia has released a draft Local Coverage Determination (LCD) on
Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) that clarifies coverage of intracranial
indications, including trigeminal neuralgia. Providers interested in
participating in the LCD process may participate as follows:

Oral Presentation – Stakeholders have the opportunity to present
scientific, evidence-based information, professional consensus opinions,
or any other relevant information regarding the draft LCD at the open
public meeting to be held at the Highmark headquarters in Camp Hill,
PA on June 7th. The deadline to register for this meeting is June 1st.
